Unified Campaigns
Send one campaign across SMS, WhatsApp, and Email at once, with a live WhatsApp preview, group targeting, and flexible scheduling.
Unified campaigns are the flagship way to reach your audience in Mersal: instead of building a separate SMS campaign, a separate WhatsApp campaign, and a separate email campaign, you build one campaign and choose which channels it goes out on. You'll find this under Campaign in the dashboard, at /user/campaign.
Choosing channels
A single campaign can target any combination of SMS, WhatsApp, and Email — one channel, two, or all three at once. This matters when you want the same offer or announcement to reach people wherever they're most reachable, without rebuilding the message three times.
Composing the message
You write your message once, and Mersal shows a live WhatsApp preview as you type, so you can see roughly how it will render on a recipient's phone before you send. This is especially useful for unified campaigns since the same copy is going out across channels with very different formatting conventions.
Choosing recipients
Campaigns target a recipient group rather than individual contacts one at a time — pick the group you want to reach from your CRM contacts, and everyone in it becomes a recipient of the campaign.
Every send form in Mersal — all 12 of them across the platform — blocks submission until at least one recipient is selected. This is intentional: it prevents accidentally sending to nobody, and it prevents losing a message you've already composed by submitting an empty campaign.
Sending now or scheduling
Once your message and recipients are set, you choose when it goes out:
- Send now — the default; the campaign goes out immediately.
- Schedule — pick a quick preset or use the date/time picker to set an exact send time in the future.
SMS through the Android gateway
When a unified campaign includes SMS, sending can bridge through your connected Android SIM Gateway if that's how your SMS channel is configured — the campaign doesn't need a separate flow for that; it uses whichever SMS gateway you already have connected.
If no gateway is connected
If you haven't connected a working sending method for any channel yet, the campaign screen shows a "Connect a sending method" prompt in place of the send button — you can't accidentally try to send through a channel that isn't actually wired up.
